06/28/2024 Shabbat Service: Perform our First Adult B’nai Mitzvah Ceremony
Friday Jun 28, 2024
Friday Jun 28, 2024
** Congregation Ahavat Olam’s musically uplifting weekly Shabbat service. **
Congregation Ahavat Olam performed our First Adult B’nai Mitzvah Ceremony! Mazal Tov to Sherry Comerchero, our first Adult Bat Mitzvah Graduate!
In Sherry's Own Words: 'My Torah portion is about faith - faith in God, faith in oneself and faith in one another, regardless of whether we succeed or fail in our undertakings… Our congregation, Ahavat Olam, started up three years ago from nothing except for faith in building a like-minded community, a congregation grounded in faith of one another, faith that we all had our own vision of what Judaism means to us, and faith in God. I encourage you to have faith in yourself as you are challenged in life…and teach your children to do the same. As a side note, if you are so inclined, please consider participating in our adult Bat Mitzvah class, as it has been life-changing for me, and I know you will experience this as well.'
Sherry will join Rabbi Idan in this evening’s Shabbat service. She will chant from the Torah, lead us in prayer, and share her thoughts about her Torah portion,
Sh’lach, with the community.
